National Disability Insurance Scheme & Department of Human Services

Kane Constructions was appointed managing contactor for the new head office joint facility for Department of Human Services and National Disability Insurance Scheme, located at Carlton Tower in the heart of Geelong. Working with Woods Bagot Architects, they were given a daunting list of loose furniture to source for the entire project. 

Faced with a complex FFE package, Kane Constructions approached Bowen Interiors to partner them as a supply partner as a fully managed contract. There was also strict guidelines to follow in terms of meeting the project brief, which included a 6 Star GreenStar rating. 

Working to a tight deadline, Kane Constructions also required a partner that could accommodate this is supply and install all furniture in accordance with their stringent timeframes.  The Bowen Interiors project team worked closely with the Kane Construction team and the Woods Bagot team, coordinating all the respective suppliers, both locally and internationally, in order to provide a world-class furniture fitout. 

Due to time pressures with other trades on site, Bowen Interiors conducted works at night to relieve the pressure on other installers on site, and to ensure that the furniture installation went completely smoothly. 

The project facility  is now a world leading office building, with a comprehensive furniture fitout throughout the entire building. Working with the architect’s colour scheme, the building is now an inviting and modern workspace, with zoned areas for different work types and different colour schemes for different zones.

A large feature central staircase links to different floors, with a feature breakout space located in this central atrium, allowing staff to get away from the hustle of work and ‘zone out’.
