Our History

Like any great company, they all have a history, that is no exception at Bowen Commercial Furniture.

The company was founded in 1982 on the values of excellence and integrity. Servicing over 4,000 customers Australia-wide, we strive to deliver exceptional workplace solutions and create business improvement. In doing so, we provide security and opportunities for our staff and communities.

We have experienced plenty of growth and achievements over the years. This has come from a combination of hard work and determination, from many different people. Bowen Commercial Furniture, and the wider group as a whole, has been incredibly lucky to have worked with so many wonderful people and organisations – something we look forward to continuing over years to come.

The Bowen Group now
consists of three divisions

Bowen Group Since Inception

To service the needs of a growing customer base, we opened our Brisbane office.

Growing expertise in office design prompted the launch of Bowen Interiors, offering end-to-end design, construction, and project management services.

As the business continued to grow, we moved to a new facility in Bayswater.

Third generation Scott, Ross and Tony Phillips joined the business and now lead the Bowen Interiors team.

With growing expertise in storage, our retail arm for back of house storage solutions for stores commenced.

Another son, John, joins the growing family business.

With a growing client base, Richard and Mark soon began receiving requests for “office storage solutions” and the seeds of Bowen Interiors were sown.

Richard was joined by his son Mark.

Richard Phillips started the business from his garage in Bowen Road, Lilydale providing cool room shelving and other storage solutions.
